Welcome to our 40th anniversary beach and buffet party at the Nahant Life Saving Station, 96 Nahant Rd., from 4-8 pm. The Mark and France Story

We met at Principia College where we both worked on the college newspaper – Mark as a talented cartoonist, and France as a budding journalist. After seven years of dating, we married on July 5, 1986 and have been sharing adventures ever since.

Francine’s career, mostly with The Christian Science Monitor, took us from Boston to Germany, northern California, Washington, DC, and southern California. Yep, four decades built on kindred tastes (hiking! opera! corgis!), faith, and aspirations are worth celebrating. But the bigger joy is sharing our love with a growing circle of family and friends.

We got married at the Nahant Village Church, and topped it off with a wedding cake made by Mark’s mom, Phyllis. France’s dad, Alex, declared it to be “the best damn wedding cake” he ever had.
